If you are planning to run a tyre recycling business, you may need to process whole waste tyres into smaller pieces. A tyre shredder is an ideal machine for processing large tyres and rubber into chips or rubber powder. The tyre shredder will significantly reduce the time spent processing tyres during the tyre pre-processing process. To make the most of your tyres, get your hands on one of Harvest’s high performance machines now!

Tyre shredder structure

Crusher main body
The main body of the machine is made of high quality steel plate welded with stress relieving treatment/machined as a whole to ensure the stability of the machine during long periods of heavy loading.

Dynamic knife/fixed knife
The moving knife material is made of special alloy tool steel forging blank, precision machining, multiple heat treatment and low temperature freezing heat treatment technology, the overall toughness and hardness of the same can be repeatedly repaired to ensure the cutting performance and service life. The fixed tool is mounted on a patented hook, optimising the tool replacement function and making tool maintenance and replacement more efficient.

Bearings/Seals
The patented easy-to-remove bearing housing allows for quick removal of the moving knife, fixed knife, bearings and other components, making it easy to maintain and replace the tool. The unique seal structure effectively blocks contact between the crushed material and grease, protecting bearings and gears even when handling liquid materials.

Knife shaft
It is made of high strength and heavy duty steel, which is more reasonable to match the tool to provide powerful power for cutting.

Waste tyre and rubber shredding & recycling in India

Unrecycled tyre waste is a global problem. This is because of its non-biodegradable nature, its flammability, the leaching of toxic chemicals into the ground when dumped and the release of harmful gases when burned. Due to their thickness and variety of materials, used tires pose challenges in recycling and disposal. India’s tyre industry is growing at 12 per cent a year, so the amount of waste is increasing. India is the second largest producer of recycled rubber after China. About 500,000 tonnes of crumb rubber-modified asphalt (CRMB) are used for road construction in India each year. The United States is believed to be the largest producer of used tires, with about 300 million annually. However, the number of used tyres is increasing rapidly in China and India due to the increase in new car sales. Globally, more than a billion tires go to waste every year. It is estimated that around 15 million tonnes of waste tyres are generated globally each year. The hoarding and dumping of these huge wastes leads to environmental problems and health risks. Proper recycling of used tyres can help reduce these problems through resource recycling and create jobs and business opportunities for a growing population.

Some of the most productive and profitable applications

Ground Rubber: It is produced by grinding the scrap tyres into small pieces of varied sizes. The most common applications include landscaping mulch, crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB), rubber products, sport surface and floor mats.

Tyre-Derived Fuel (TDF): It is a cleaner and an attractive alternative to coal. It is widely used in pulp and paper mills, electric utility boilers and cement kilns.

Civil Engineering: The civil industry is increasingly choosing shredded tyres as a replacement for clay or sand in road and landfill construction, septic tank making, landfill cover and other construction works.
