What is tyre recycling
Tyre recycling is the process of converting discarded or unwanted tyres into materials that can be used in new products. Scrap tyres are usually candidate for recycling when they are no longer usable due to wear or damage and cannot be refurbished or re-grooved.
According to the tyre industry, tyre recycling is an important success story. Inventories of used tyres have shrunk from more than 1 billion in 1991 to 60 million in 2017.

With years of experience developing equipment that provides high quality rubber from scrap tires, Harvest tire shredders and ancillary equipment provide cost-effective options for shredding tires, separating rubber from steel and generating granulated or powdered rubber for recycling.

How to recycle tires?-Tire recycling process steps
So, are you thinking about how to recycle your tires? Here is a step-by-step guide on how to recycle your tires:
1. Collection of used tires
It is already known that collecting waste is the first step in any recycling process. At this stage, both individuals and businesses engaged in tire recycling collect tires.
In some cases, individuals are paid to collect used tires and send them to collection points. Typically, these tires are transferred to their collection points once they reach a certain number.
2. Tire shredding process
The first step after taking the waste tyre to the processing plant is to cut it into small pieces. The idea here is to reduce the size of tyres to materials that people can easily handle.
With the help of a tire shredder, we use a rotating shaft to tear or cut these tires.Eventually, this stage will result in a 2-inch-long tyre splinter. At the end of this stage, you will have the raw materials that can be used to make fuel.
3. Separation of steel and fiber
Here you handle and prepare the old tire fragments to be removed and separate the tire wire from the rubber. Of course, this step involves separating and screening the fibers. Steel wire gives the tire resilience and strength and is removed and recycled. You can then take the wire to the mill used to make new wheels.
The separation function separates the fibrous material in the rubber particle. The separator is equipped with a magnetic separator below, separating residual steel wire, to ensure the purity of rubber particles. The remaining rubber is then used as field turf on the playground – known as rubber mulch.
4. Screening and grinding stage
Here, the rubber should be carefully observed to ensure that there is no thread or other forms of contamination. Screening is the sorting of a large number of different sizes of rubber without wire according to size and the removal of unwanted substances. Unwanted and oversized rubber sheets will also be reduced here. If rubber powder is needed, grinding equipment should be added.
5. Cleaning stage
The cleaning phase is the penultimate phase. This involves thorough cleaning of the screen rubber. Here, you use water and detergent for a thorough cleaning.
6. Packaging and shipping stages
This marks the final stage of recycling tyres. Packaging comes from the cleaning phase of clean rubber. They are then delivered to factories that need them as raw materials for production in their respective processing plants. Examples of factories include makers of rubber shoes and turf for sports arenas.
